About the Book
The Spiritual Quest is a course in spiritual direction in a parish setting. Following the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous as a guideline, the fourteen week study includes these course elements and requirements: Regular Attendance, Sharing with Spiritual Friend during Weekly Session, Daily Spiritual Discipline, Morning or Evening Prayer and Bible Study, Minimum of One Book Read from Bibliography, Daily Journal, Weekly Attendance at Sunday Eucharist, Private Confession, Participation in Ministry of Outreach, and Sacrificial Giving.
About the Author
Rev. Dr. Robert G. Certain is a native of Georgia. A graduate of Emory University, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as a navigation officer aboard a B-52. Shot down in combat he spent the last four months of the war in the "Hanoi Hilton." Following repatriation he felt the call to God's service and entered the Episcopal seminary at the School of Theology, at the University of the South, in Sewanee, Tennessee. He was ordained an Episcopal priest in 1976. Since then he has served parishes in Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, California and Georgia. For most of that time he has remained in the Air Force as a reserve chaplain, retiring in 1999 after 30 years of military service. He has also served the church in various regional and national ministries.
